I chose to stay at Lantern Gion because of its convenient location near the Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. However, the shared kitchen facility was an unexpected delight. It allowed me to prepare my meals and try out local ingredients, enhancing my overall cultural experience.
Rude staff. Non-functional wifi.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel, worth every penny! The room was comfortable and cozy, and the location couldn't have been better in the heart of Gion. The staff treated me like family, so friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
The hotel breakfast menu could use a little improvement, maybe adding more variety to the options would be great.

I recently stayed at Hotel Lantern in the heart of Gion for a few days. The clerks were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. The shared room provided enough privacy with individual mirrors and lamps for each bed. The shower room had strong water pressure and provided shampoo and body soap. The location was perfect, nestled in a quiet lane but just steps away from the ancient streets where you might spot a Geisha. It was also convenient to access transportation and explore the beautiful temples and pagodas nearby.
I highly recommend this hotel.
